How ZYPREXA® (olanzapine) Works
ZYPREXA is the brand name for a medication prescribed in the treatment of schizophrenia, acute bipolar mania, and maintenance treatment in bipolar disorder. The scientific name for ZYPREXA is olanzapine. Although the mechanism of action is unknown, ZYPREXA's efficacy is believed to be mediated through a combination of dopamine and serotonin type-2 antagonism.
